HOMAGE TO KLIMT - THE REINTERPRETATION OF AN ARTIST

Direct Method

May 30 - June 11, 2010

mosaicsThis course offers you the unique opportunity to work directly learning the techniques of cutting, placement, texture, color theory and artistic interpretation of a painting.   "It's necessary to copy  from the most important artists, the path, the way that leads to the abstract is really long and requires you to have a "solid" strong knowledge of the figurative". Maestro Menossi provides the cartoon, and all material, plus his own inimitable and inspiring style of teaching and methods to provide a stellar experience in mosaic discovery.

If you have materials that you would like to incorporate in this mosaic, please feel free to bring them along with you.  You will be using the hammer and hardi.  If you don’t have a hammer you can order one and have it waiting for you when you arrive. If you have particular tools that you find useful and want to bring them please feel free to do so.

For those students who are not familiar with using the hammer and hardi there will be instruction from Giulio at the beginning of the course and time to practice before starting to work on the Klimt.

The skillful use of material in the direct method requires careful consideration and attention in order to accomplish the desired outcome: a piece of art that speaks to the heart and communicates the artist’s passion.  Maestro Menossi’s skilled, wise, careful and thoughtful approach to the Direct Method means a pathway to understanding and experience unavailable anywhere else in the world.
